PROS
Thick material
Heavy clips
Thick, strong rubber
Less than $5
|
CONS
Absolutely none

I bought this headband because the FireFlies PL47G2 does not come with one. For less than five bucks I figured I would give it a shot. I have a drawer full of headlamps with failed headbands. I seem to either be rough on headbands or they are just cheesy in general, to begin with. I was surprised to see how well built this one was. It has nice strong clips and thick material. It fits so nice and snug. I will be buying more of these for sure. It fit the FireFlies light to a tee. Convoy did a real nice job making an inexpensive band that will work with many different lights

CREE XHP-35
Magnetic tail cap
Durability
Extremely bright
Good mode spacing
|
CONS
Not enuf low modes

Like most of us, I have quite a few drawers full of lights that I just don't use much anymore. I can't help but think that this light is largely responsible for a good percentage of the lights in the "headlamp drawer". I have had it for well over a year and use it anytime I need a distance light. So I mainly use it outside as the beam pattern is too narrow for anything close up like engine work or stuff that would be within arms reach. I have a different light for close up work that would call for a flood beam.
I almost skipped over this one because I thought the XHP-35 wouldn't really compare to the triples and quads that are flooding the market right now. However, Fasttech has the lowest price anywhere that I could find for this light so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. It easily became my favorite light. The beam goes farther than most of my XHP-70 headlamps which is crazy. It rarely gets too hot. The mode spacing is perfect with the exception of a lack of low modes. Although it does have a "firefly" mode which is nice but then jumps to about 150 lumens skipping the much needed lower levels. Other than that one shortcoming, the light is the most durable, comfortable, headlamp that I own. Good job Nitecore!!

PROS
Fantastic quality.
Solid
Works with XHP-50/70
Acts as a heat sink
|
CONS
|
I really like the feel of this reflector. Nice, solid aluminum that helps pull heat away from the LED and transfer it to the body of the light. The reflector needs just a little bit of file work around the top edge to fit in C/D Maglites. I found it worked very well with an XHP-70. The center hole was near perfect size. Quite floody, but that's ok because it eliminated the "cross hatch" so commonly associated with multi die emitters.

I couldn't wait to get this light. I mean, who wouldn't want 3000 (legit) lumens in a single cell headlamp? Even better yet, one that comes with a good battery and its own charger all at a very reasonable price. Count me in. Fast forward 8 months... it suddenly stops working. No output whatsoever. I notice a horrible burnt smell coming from the head section. I send Imalent 3 separate emails each 2 weeks apart with zero return emails. Nothing... Bummer.
If you search the web on this light, you will see that I am not alone. Many, many others have had the same issues with both the light and the company ignoring their customers. It's a good thing that I have another 4 years of trying to make contact. Their warranty is good for 60 months in that they will repair free of charge any non working lights. I take it they must be extremely busy repairing lights and not checking their emails...

PROS
Nice precision edges
Hard steel
Stays sharp
Tacky non slip handles
|
CONS
None (even after a year of use)

I really like these nippers. They are just the right size for detail work yet I treat them like they are much larger. I have cut solid 10 gauge copper wire with these more than a few times. They work better and have outlasted some cutters four, five, even six times the cost of these. Even after a year, I am still very impressed
