It is perfect for rewrapping my batteries and for warming up other things...even honey, that has cristallized!

I bought these to do rewraps on batteries mainly, yes you can use a hairdryer but i found this works faster and better. It's a good balance between being hot enough to work effectively and not hot enough to be unsafe if you don't hold it in one place too long obviously. Yes i could use a lighter but this is safer.

If you use heat shrink of any kind you need one of these, from rewrapping batteries to electrical connectors it is an invaluable tool.

The normal way of shrinking heatshrink is either your lighter, a heatgun, or the hairdryer if you have none of the other items available at hand.

If you have used any of these items before, you would have been through burning the heatshrink to burning your fingers, this heat gun will quickly shrink your heatshrink yet not produce enough heat to burn your heatshrink and if used carefully will not burn your fingers whilst you hold your item.

Difficult to talk about pros and cons, because this tool does everything it says. Can you find better ? Yes, but not at this price.

Most Heat Gun are sending too much heat (over 500°C), which is in my opinion far too much, to rewrap or wrap a battery, and be safe.

This one does more than 200°C, but not too much, which makes it perfect for the Sleeve PVC Heat Shrinkable to fits the 18650 battery.
