21700 Sams 40T discharging fast in 2 days of storage
hey guys

Had these 2 Samsung INR21700-40T 4000mAh - 35A , i used them very little maybe under 25 charges over their 1 year age, always keeping them @ ~3.7V ( or 50%) when not in the mod, 25 Celsius, charging just when the other approached 55%.
Never hit them more than 10-12W for 1 ohm, and charged them @ 0.5-1 ma.

So in short, them bitches were treated royally.

For the last 2 charges i kept one @ 100% while vaping the other and in just 1-2 days the mod says 40%.

Also, these 40T, for their 4000mah, a 20700 energig 27HC 2800mah, ABUSED like charged every day for 2-3 y, lasts a lot longer. These ones last like one 5 ml dvarw...or maybe just a tad more. Maybe

edit: this is recent, so, in the beginning all was good. they're from nkon place so, genuine.

wut do

Could be a bad batch. Just because you buy from a reputable place doesn't mean you won't get bad ones.

Even if you paid $10 USD or one, that's cheap for a year.

Curious about your charger and how you are rating them at 100%?

SKU 5134800 Nitecore NEW i2 Intellicharger 2-Slot

SKU 9650842 XTAR D4 4-Slot Intelligent Li-ion Battery Charger ( not with allmaybe, it's simple d4 )

These 2 chargers charges another little army of sony, lg 18650 and 20700 energigs all of which which lasted for a long 3 y charged maybe even 2/day

I don't understand the question how i rate them at 100%.

The charger stops charging , and for 18650 i have a mod which reads the voltage in the battery in bypass mode so...that's that..?

Be careful with overcharge for this Nitecore NEW i2 Intellicharger 2-Slot:

While the I2's automatic mode selects the right voltage, if you mess about with the buttons you can enter manual mode and set it to charge to a different voltage, including possibly 4.35V which is too high. As mentioned above you can just unplug the charger and it'll lose any manual settings so then you'll be fine if you don't want manual mode. Or if you really want to feel good about it or you want to be an expert on how to use the very confusing new I2 you can check/change the settings by doing the following:
1) Put a battery in
2) Press the button over the bay that the battery's in (C if it's the left bay, V if it's the right). This sets it to manual settings mode. Note when I say "press the button" in these instructions it means just press it and immediately release it, don't hold it. Holding the button does different things.
3) It'll show one light next to 4.35V, 4.2V, or 3.7V, and possibly will show one light next to 1A at the top. The one light next to a voltage is what it's set to. You want 4.2 (or you can use 3.7 if you want to store a battery long term). If you just want to check it, and it's correct, then you can just press the button over the bay that the battery's in again and it will start charging and you're good to go. If you want to change it see below.
4) To change the setting, while it's still in manual settings mode (it shows the one light next to the voltage it's set to), hold the V button for a few seconds until the light starts moving. Let go of the button when it's next to the voltage you want. If you missed then you can hold the V button again and try again. Also note you can do the same while you're on this screen with holding the C button to change from 1A mode to 500mA mode if you feel like changing the charging speed manually. Once everything's set, then as above press the button above the bay the battery's in to go back to charging.

Note that the settings can be different for the two bays, so if you want to check the other bay, you'll need to put a battery in it too and repeat the above.

As always if you get lost and want to reset everything you did just unplug the charger from the wall for a few seconds.

Your batch and date code are at the bottom right in this picture. "2IA3"
You can try searching for a bad batch this way.

2IA2

still, they are used at at a 3.7 A discharge. What could possibly cause such a drop in it's internals that it is DISCHARGING itself in 2 days from 100 to 40%.

I mean i don't cry over a 5 eur battery but more because the gigantic 5000mah aramax power battery, which i used for aromamizer supreme in 1 coil config 0.15ohm(what the thing was built for actually)/@fixed 55W, heavy complex coil, best taste i've ever got from any atomizer ever, hit like a truck, in 1 y discharged itself to almost dead, took 1 billion y to charge, but at least it saw daily heavy use. I so wish i knew how to open it up and repair/replace w/e it had inside, awesome form factor.

Same stuff with the samsungs except c'mon, 3-4 A discharge vs their 30 rating, at 12W, never abused, never kept fully charged , srs i think it has even less than 25 charges.

Thanks for the nitecore tips, yeah i have it for a long time i know it's stuffs, it's leagues behind the xstar , it heats any battery- i keep a fan blowing on them , max i saw from it is 4.1, it never charges 4.2 , checked. Now , a heater or not, 12 x 18650 and 2 enercigs 20700 say it's fine.

However, last times i tested them was on xstar so....is it a bad battery in general?

What would you guys use for mtl ( max 16W) in 21700 format? long lasting ones

cheers

Molicel P42A 21700. They're what I use.

It's twelve inches long, but don't use it as a rule...

Mine are 2IA4, I have no issues with them, charged 2 days ago, one is at 4.19V, second one is at 4.17V, tested with a digital multimeter.

Bought them also from Nkon, on August 23, 2019.

My charger is an Gyrfalcon ALL-88, 8 bays.

I use them in a mech squonker, with coils at 0.11-0.15 Ohm but I charge them once a week because I have 8 battery in rotation.

Charging rate is at 1A, I have no intention to spare them at all.
Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow.
