Thunder Head Creations Thunder Storm Mech Squonk - Need cleaning.
Hello guys and girls.

I have this mod, one year old, and I need to clean the power button.
I've searched over the internet how can I open it up
to reach freely the button and I found no information.

I can take out both doors (front-back), squonk bottle and battery wall but further from there... no fucking idea.

I have a second one, still sealed in the box, and I don't want to open it up yet.

Any idea is welcomed.

I was able to unscrew the middle section, but that's it.
I cannot take out the top section, otherwise I cannot take out the middle section.

Too bad that I cannot cleaned/fixed.

I really like this squonker, even if is bigger than the other.
Hits like a tank, is an daily beater but I like it.

If I cannot fix it then I have to open the new one.

Nope. But mine (like yours) has a squonk stem under the 510 that is coated in black grease. That stem will spin (I used old flush cutters to grip it gently) allowing you 360 degree access to clean the stem, and to a lesser extent, the button contact. Qtips and alcohol work great.

Means nothing, but my battery contact wire is red!

I think you could spin the 510 off the top, allowing more access, but I got mine super clean with my method, and don't want to scratch it all up--it hits too well! The grease is there as a precaution I'm sure, to prevent arcing and to ensure smooth button operation, since THC knew theirs was a "closed" mech squonk system. It has never let me down or acted funny, good post pmta mod!

And bad news, cannot remove the top side. is fixed in place.

carrion4worm - i cleaned 3 times till now but needs a better cleaning/fixing.

Anyway, I opened up the new one and I already ordered a new one from FT.
24€ for a new spare is not bad at all.
