If you are making a tobacco-flavoured ejuice, be advised that it may need to steep for at least 3 weeks. Four is better and six is often perfect.

Otherwise it may have very little taste and very poor blending with other flavours.

What Miss Metis said ^

Tobaccos require a long steep, followed by bakery... That's why I just shake and vape fruit flavors. Lol

Also,if you happen to enjoy a line of coke now and again (and I'm in no way suggesting that you do) remember that your taste buds will take a few days to come back to normal! Vaping any flavour during this time period is noticeably tasteless.

Everyone is different...

My favourite Tobacco juice is the Pistachio/RY4-U by that DIY or Die guy and I prefer it as soon as I make it.

I never make enough to last longer than 3-4 weeks at the very very longest for after that time it dulls in flavour.

Get yourself a couple flavors going in two different rigs, contrasting flavors would be the best.

Vapers tongue, is another way of saying your taste buds are being desensitized by only one flavor consistently, happens to everybody.

Besides you may try a little more power to the coils you're trying to heat.

Interesting. Makes sense. There are probably many pain medications that could deaden the palate as well.

I usually only get this problem when there was too much (%) of one or more flavorings in a mix. Some flavors can overload the senses and linger. For example: 5% of an FA or INW flavor might have a very different result than the same TFA or CAP flavor at 5%. Use less next time.

I like grapefruit soda or a kiwi beverage, along with plenty of water and time away from the offending flavor to restore things.

Source13,

Congratulations on starting DIY juice.
Keep buying store brand while you make SMALL test batches.
I can avoid vaper's tongue by switching flavors every few hours.
Lemon, mint, salt, etc. are all great plans too. Choose what works for you.
(how do feel about wintergreen? I never get numb too that)

essellar is speaking an important truth.
The % of flavor and nicotine must match the power and size of the coil(s).

agitation is more important than steeping IMO. shake a bottle from clear to a state of being saturated with bubbles and then back to clear again 4 times daily over 5 days and it will accellerate steeping comparable to 4 weeks on the shelf for all flavors. You dont need any fancy tools or an ultrasound to achieve these results, it just makes the process easier on yourself.

Just to go DIY on you heres a list of some of the best flavors to consider for MTL

FLV Boysenberry

FLV Wild melon (cantelpope dominant)

INW Cactus
paired with any fruit

TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

FW Cookies and Cream
probably the best cream profile in existence. Its a hidden jem

LorAnn Watermelon
This one is propably the juciest flavor of all and if you dont get flavor from this one, its vapers tongue and you just need a reset.
