Those machine shops look like every engineering firm i've ever worked in. And yes, everything is coated in oil for fucks sake. I'm a time serve retired toolmaker and those look rather typical of any small toolroom here in the UK I served in. Polishing has to be one of dirtiest jobs known to man... My g/f now wife put up with the smell of soluble oil (cutting fluid) for years it has a tendency to get into the pours and a bastard to totally get rid of the smell... those boys need to get out a bit more often see the other side of life instead of getting fat sitting in air cond rooms.
