Shipping to Germany: Battery and VAT @Anniepan
Hello,
if i order the Hadron Pro mod with exchangeable LiPo battery, which shipping carrier should i take?
Can this be shipped without problems to germany?
And how will Fasttech deal with the EU VAT rules from 1-7-2021?

I think too, the new rules was an EU wide rule and when fasttech labels the package with 20 USD value of goods, the delivery company will collect by delivery an additional tax and handling fee of minimum 8,80 Euro (or more) for each package, when fasttech was not in the EU an registred Import One Stop Shop (IOSS). That makes orders from Europe by fasttech or other asian online shops unattractive ...

It's worse. Because there's no invoice. Customs needs an invoice so you've got to give them the invoice yourself. You always pay the taxes and extra handling fee based on what you paid for it. That makes it a lot more expensive and is going to make a lot of people think twice before buying something.

It's pure robbery from the EU so I expect a lot of packages to be send back from where it came.

They didn't even deliver my last order and waited two weeks just to make me pay the taxes. :(

Norway is not a member of the European Union, and there are several other countries in Europe, f ex Iceland and Switzerland, who aren’t either. But we’ll probably be thrown in with the EU by most Chinese companies and have to deal with this protectionism from the EU as well. Norway has its own idiotic tax and customs regime, similar to the EU’s. I can tell you from personal experience that it’s not going to work. I have order from the company that begins with Ali, and they took the taxes when I paid, but I had to pay the taxes again to customs, including a $30 handling charge. Of course, I never received reimbursement from China. I do however hope that FastTech will figure all this out and take the appropriate measures. The prepaid tax system does function well with Amazon, so maybe it won’t be a total disaster, but prices will go up, unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply Anniepan. I had to cancel the delivery because they would charge me more than €21 for taxes and extra handling. That's a ridiculuos amount of money for a €16.97 order. I'll get in contact with FT support when the order arrives back at FT. :(

I think you're right.

Up to now, EU buyers purchase from the Far East as, overall, it's cheaper. The products are without sales tax at source, and much of what ships avoids the Customs charges that are supposed to be levied at the destination Member State.

If some EU destinations are now zealously enforcing the Customs charges (along with the inevitable admin fees), I think it's inevitable people will start to think twice before buying direct from China.

Also worth considering, is that if a China-based retailer decides to register for EU Sales Tax at source, prices will immediately increase (by, for arguments sake, 20%). That in itself may remove the cost advantage of buying from China, especially if prices would now be on par with those in the Member State you live.

Potentially, this could have a hugely negative impact on sales in China.

It's twelve inches long, but don't use it as a rule...

The Problem can been solved by Fasttech self with an Europe Warehouse, others (ex. Ali & Co) have them since month in Hungary, no problems with taxes or orders.
