yes I guess so. This order was split in two and the second part shipped a few days later and is currently in ISC New York for some reason. Typically my stuff sits in chicago for 10+ days.

What did you order?

If it was face masks it may be due to improper paperwork, needed to confirm items to be real.

I am in the same boat with my face mask being sent back to FT after a security check.

Buying Face Masks and Other PPE from China Just Got a LOT Tougher

In response to this situation, the Chinese authorities issued an Order that tightly regulates the export of coronavirus medical devices and supplies from China. Under this Order, any Chinese exporter of listed medical devices must meet two requirements. First, the device must be registered in China through a Medical Device Product Registration Certificate. Second, the exporter must prove that the device complies with the regulations of the importing country as they apply to that device. Compliance with these requirements will be difficult or impossible for many otherwise legitimate Chinese manufacturers. This will constrict supply just when demand is exploding.

This is obviously not a good situation and many believe China has done this not so much to protect buyers, but to keep PPE products in China at the ready if and when the coronavirus flares up again in China (which is already happening). By spinning its Order restricting PPE as having been motivated by a desire to protect foreign buyers, rather than to choke off exports, China figures it will look better internationally. No matter what its motive though, the impact will be the same. Just when countries around the world desperately need more PPE, China has to a large extent cut them off.

So if it was any type of PPE, we may or may not get them.

Not sure about any other items, China is not to happy with us and Trump ATM.

Your package being returned to FT may or may not be due to specific issues with export of medical equipment. I've had a replacement package containing just some generic USB cables and devices spend a few weeks bouncing around China depots various before being returned to FT due to an alleged "security check" failure ! Now well into it's second attempt at the dreaded ChinaPost ePacket but it's still apparently going nowhere anytime soon needless to say. TBH, I'm not actually expecting to ever receive this order or indeed another that is also somewhere other that at FT or here.

The recent export controls on 'medical equipment' is apparently due to the increasing number of complaints from EU countries various about serious quality issues with product(s) received. Unreliable tests, masks that don't fit properly and filters that don't actually filter as specified etc. with entire batches being rejected. Can't find it just now but I posted some links to SCMP reports a few weeks ago when it was announced. I think the bottom line was that only companies/products that are fully licensed for medical use in China can now be exported and only then if full compliance with all required contractual specifications can be demonstrated. I would guess this is only likely to apply to bulk orders for genuine/frontline medical use though.

There clearly is/was no shortage of dubious quality and unapproved medical product being exported, hopefully most of which are now likely to get stopped. However, I would suggest that there are no prizes for guessing where any products which can't be officially exported as genuine medical supplies are likely to end up being disposed of though ;) Caveat Emptor and all that.

Edited to add:

China bans export of test kits and medical supplies by firms not licensed to sell them at home after European buyers complain of being sold substandard products. Beijing says only companies approved by the National Medical Products Administration can ship their goods overseas

I don't feel there's a point in ordering anything from Fasttech at this point. My parcel hasn't been scanned since mid March and apparently it's been accepted by airline and enroute to Australia. I opened a ticket 20 days ago and all I get is a generic response, saying they will talk to their post office. I know I don't stand alone and I am wondering about the ethics of fasttech ATM. Should they be making sales if the can't if items aren't making it to their destination?

I'm starting to fall into the same boat, not a fan of spending over 100 on an order plus 60 for DHL shipping and it sitting in the warehouse. However, I get that these are f'ed up circumstances so I'll be somewhat patient.
