Looking for good under $50 dashcam
Is there any available here in FT that has a long battery life and auto-records once it detects power from the 12v port?

I hope it's decent. As long as it can actually capture license plates I'd be extremely happy. Looking for a dash cam myself the last year or so and can't find one sub 200$ that can read a plate :(

Nothing in the 30fps/sub-100usd category can do that sadly, been trying to find something very useful myself. Even Scammazon or Earthbay sellers don't vouch for their stuff and can't verify themselves so I resort to "long term reviews" in youtube or some of those "wait til return window expires and rage on ratings to get back at the seller" types.

SKU 9642996 I've read reviews elsewherez and watched video, seems to be a good solid unit except for 1 flaw.... It's held up with rubber bands, which dry rott etc :(

buy that one then buy a pair of those 12mm wide baller bands and use it for the rubber band issue you're seeing? The connections for the bands are hook types and not loops, so there will be ways around it(my bad for the unintended pun).

Sorry, I forgot to mention the price: the MSRP is $49 while the box is relatively large and heavy, so we had to add partial shipping costs to the price to enable free shipping. The price is $63.50. We will also pay attention to the price changes at any time. If there is a better price, we will update our selling price.
