An oldie but still a love song. Pining for his girlfriend. Mentions myself ( not by name ) and a fellow Canadian musician he often played with. We were all at the PaperDoor an old after hours boozecan on the coldest night of the year watching a fairly recent all night TV show, on the coldest night of the year, if ever in memory. He drove the two of us home and then proceeded to write this song about feeling alone without his love.

About love as well, in a roundabout manner...

A radio station in Manhattan played "Love songs, nothing but love songs." One girl in the office always chose it when it was her turn. Most didn't like it and wanted the rock or top-40 station, but I secretly enjoyed it hehe. Sometimes I chose it when it was my turn, just for her. But mostly I picked an obscure jazz station that played avant-garde stuff, maybe half of it any good. Nearly everybody hated that lol.

The vocals on this are sweet, almost unreal.

And yeah Bagz, I only knew Bette Midler from her movies which I thought were kinda silly and girly for the most part, but then my wife got one of her jazz CDs and man, what a talent. She's an amazing jazz singer.
