Ahhhhhhhhh. Pressed. That makes perfect sense.

The portion of the frames that screws into the blades are definitely punched. The OEM one I'm in the process of replacing the oem screws and washers for a thicker nut and bolt, a tiny screw(s) similar to spares in our rtda bags holds the blade to the frames.... I had to drill out the holes in the one handle frame, haven't gotten to the second one.

So.... There's a 50\50 chance I can actually get an edge on it? It's a 5mm thick blade lmao

If you'd want to chance the edge of a known good blade you could try scratching the blade in question with it. The easier it scratches will be the easier the blade will go dull.

It may be that you're best ignoring the last video post. If the blade is some Chinese mystery metal you could be wasting your time with any efforts at hardening and tempering. Your call.

Edit: Letter opener. I call my Chinese Scarab a glorified letter opener, the blades metal isn't worth being called a knife for most purpose.

Color looks high carbon steelish in that video but without hardness testing who can really say!
Concealable but poor for grasping IMHO. Worst case having to stab will likely have the hand grasping the knife sliding right up to the blade. And before that you'd have to open the thing first.

I agree your hand would most likely slide. Puting the nut and bolt on one adds a little extra grip. As far as opening, videos make it look stupid but it's just as flippy as a butterfly knife and easy to open with one hand. Just not easy to close with one hand. Gimme a minute to upload a video.

One good knife for the kitchen is enough. You can stab someone with a screwdriver.
If you want on or off the list just let me know.
