Knife modding
I recently bought the Enlan M020CA and I like it a lot.
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1881000 (Anone to hint me how to add SKU?)
Only the coating looked a bit cheap so I stripped it.

I really think this knife should come with anodized aluminum scales instead of this coating and the lanyard hole should be drilled through the scales, not only through the liners ;)

And then here's the famous SRM 710 in a new look.

They both look great! What did you use on the 710 to get that look?

copy SKU number, paste it here, and delete the space between SKU and the number.

Knives look pretty good.

SKU 1881000

SKU 1543503

When you are making a copy/paste of the SKU from the bottom of the page of a product, there is going to be 2 spaces between "SKU" and the number even if only one seems to be displayed one the screen after submitting your message:
SKU 1881000

If you remove 1 space, it will be displayed in blue as a link to the page to the product:
SKU 1881000

Thank you for the replies :)

The 710 got acid etched in ferric acid for about a day and then I simply polished the remaining areas.

First I covered the scale with packing tape, then I cut the pattern, removed the rays, spayed it with paint, carefully cut the paint at the tape's eges, removed all the tape, threw it into the acid.

I think I should re-etch scale and blade for 15 mins and stonewash it, polished surfaces love fingerprints.

How about this 710?

And this 702?

No SKU as I didn't find the golden pin and washer version with clip on fasttech.

Thank you. Well, I was hoping to see something more from others, but maybe a vaping forum is not the best place for that :P

Just a thought, not a request as such. - Do you sell the finished knives or in the case of the 710/7010 just the scales. I have a collection of Enlan EL-01s and I'd like to add a couple of custom made scales to them, buying new ones for the custom scales to fit. I was thinking Kirinite on an EL-01 and EM-01 like the photo-shopped images below.

I have a selection of Kirinite, Micarta, Corian and several pieces of more exotic Austalian timber as well as some excellent Bamboo laminate flooring.

As the flooring is solid bamboo - very stable and with figuring all the way through I think it would make very attractive scales. The bamboo samples were £1 delivered for two pieces approx 130mm x 160mm, at that price I had £5 worth!

I realize that this thread is not exactly the latest but the level of skill shown is outstanding so I think it could use an airing again.

Sorry to be a bit off-topic but a quick question for you8steve88 since you collect Enlan EL01s.
I received SKU 1572205 this week and while I love the look, ergonomics and the knife in general, I have a few issues.
First, while the action is acceptable, it is not amazing. When I open the knife slowly with 2 hands, if feel it slightly rubbing/grinding somewhere which prevents from a butter smooth action and gives this gritty feel to it.
Second, the liner lock engages properly however, it is extremely hard to disengage, to the point that it hurts my finger everytime O close the knife. I wonder if the tolerances are a bit off and the liner lock is a tiny bit too long.

Have you ever had anything similar with any of your EL01s? any ideas? I am no knife expert and have actually never disassembled a knife so disassembling it might be a bit challenging.

Thanks.
