Thoughts on Dovpo chip?
Anyone own a non-DNA mod with a Dovpo chip? Any thoughts on the reliability and longevity?

I've owned a Dovpo Odin 100 for over a year. I've experienced no problems - I use it in wattage mode only at about 60 Watts, but I don't use TC so I can't comment. I have no concerns about longevity.

The only problems I know of with Dovpo chips are caused by juice getting inside the mod - but tends to be the Topside squonk and the Abyss that suffer. I haven't heard of any chip problems with the non DNA Odin 200 (which I believe uses the same board as this mod).

I have the DNA version of the Riva and the build quality seems decent, the dual battery Topsides have a bad reputation for battery door problems - but the door on the Riva seems pretty solid and unlikely to cause problems.

I think this will be a reasonable mod - one definite pro is it is small for a dual 18650 mod and ergonomic, but other than that its just another budget dual 18650 mod.

If you have concerns about the board I would have a good search for the DNA version - it seems the Odin DNA250C got most of the attention and the DNA Riva seems to be on offer quite frequently (I bought mine for $72 on a UK site a few months ago)

IDK, is it the non-color 200 watt chip they used many times before, as in the topside, OR is it an updated version of the 100 watt color screen chip used in the Odin 100?

I appears to have a 0.96" colour screen - which indicates it isn't the chip from the Odin 200. But the package contents on the listing claim DNA 250, so its anybody's guess.

I assumed (yes I know) that it would be the same chip as the Odin 200, but if its colour then they have updated it. I'll just wait until I see a review as I don't have much faith in FT listing accuracy.

No firmware updates... So either they are perfect from the start or not cared for from the manufactures point. As the Dovpo Riva 200w without DNA isn't even available on the manufacturers own page, kinda hints about the latter.

Well, IF this Riva model indeed has a color screen, I can find no photos of it. Either it's the same 200 watt chip they have used countless times, or a new chip/ new screen, UI.

The 200 watt "topside" chip has been around a good while, with The Basium squonk being the first time i saw it used. they would go on to slightly alter the UI and features on the 200 watt Topside, where it made it's biggest impression on the vape world. I guess the Odin 200 is a more recent use of the chip....so it's been around!

I own a 90 watt Topside with the same basic chip, the Basium and the topside dual. All the chips still work, and all those mods were purchased upon release, so they are about 3 years old, at least. Decent bare-bones chip with a crappy interface and a plain, but easily readable and well laid out screen. Power is above average, so 50 watts feels like 55 or 60 on many mods. Don't know why a third button is needed, but I surmise this is more to do with left over mod bodies than a design choice....when the DNAs run out, they gotta put something in there....

Good enough chip, but your cheating yourself out of a much better mod for 40.00....the DNA versions are sub 100.00 almost everywhere.

$42.84 with MAP. Most videos of the DNA version suggest it's a very well made mod, if the only thing they've changed is the chip.
