I've had an IPV 200W Auto Squonk for a few months now and am mostly pleased with one exception. From the description it's the same (or very similar) board & controls. Have had no battery drain problem (and I do leave my batteries in the mod) but I have one problem with the joystick control. It works perfectly under Novice (Wattage) mode and is fine for TC with one exception. The joystick does everything it should except for changing Mode (Soft, Normal, Eco, etc.). I have to fiddle with it almost endlessly to change the mode. When I do get an acceptable mode I do my best not to change it.

Was tempted to get one of these but the problem I described, plus the fact that a number of Pioneer/IPV mods I've had in the last few years haven't lasted all that long, led me not to!

The battery drain probably takes a couple weeks, actually. If you leave the batteries in it, put it on a shelf and don't touch it for a period of time, the device will drain your cells. You will notice it only under those circumstances...but, dont forget when you go on vacation! You'll come home to two drained cells...I mean, Dead!

Insert idiotic mantra here.

$37 with code: FASTTECH

For $37 I will give this some thought and maybe pick one up after all.
Too heavy for me outside but as a desk mod....hard to argue against.

Yes I use OSX and iOS only but I don't care about bluetooth nor apps.
Just want it in basic wattage.

....

@ANDY.lion I am stupidly one of those people that leaves mods around with batteries...I have a lot spread out between Home, Shop, Office, and Man Cave, lol! I don't do it on purpose, I swear! Yeah, I know it's dumb, but hey, at least I can confirm this information for others. The Asmodus chip drain isn't documented much, it seems, so i'm actually running more tests now.

Mods I own that are affected
Lustro
Lustro Kodama
Minikin Kodama
Mini 21 Kodama
All are the touchscreen color chip.
Insert idiotic mantra here.

Trust me... you wouldn't be missing much - other than temp/power curves, sticking a jpg of your own on the screen (I think), and the concept of software updates without physically plugging the mod into a computer (a la Escribe).

The asMODus Amighty, which is also a colour screen, doesn't suffer any parasitic drain.

Interesting...single cell as well, not dual. I don't own any single cell Asmodus, except Spruzza. That has the B &W version of the same chip,I think...no drain there either...

Selbst die Invader2/3 sorgt für tiefenentladung der Akkus. Schon die erste eigenbau mod, ne555, schaltetet man manuel ab. Also akkus raus nehmen und gut ist...
