Guys, is DNA useful only for temperature control vaping or for wattage mode as well? I vape in wattage mode and I'm not sure if I really need the DNA. Does it help saving battery or won't make a difference? Thanks if anybody can help.

I only vape in normal wattage mode. It doesn't really do that any better than a random Vaporesso board or whatever. It's just more reliable. This year I've bought 2 Vaporesso and 2 Eleaf mods, in one of each the board already stopped working. If I put a battery in a random DNA mod that I bought in 2017, I'm 100% sure it'll still work fine.

The SXK 70W board is not one I'd trust taking on a vacation, I'd be worried it'd stop working randomly after a few days.

Every brand has duds, of course. But on average my most reliable mods were DNA ones. And, for some reason, Teslacigs. My Wye85 mods keep going strong after quite some time of abuse.

@airwinny thanks for your kind reply. I own an "eVic VTC mini" and an "Innokin Proton". None of them have DNA chip, but while on the vtc mini (single battery) the battery lasts for only 2 hours, on the innokin (twin batteries) it lasts for 15 hours! I'm concerned if this chip on this SXK is as bad as the one on the eVic vtc mini which drains the battery terribly.

Draining batteries isn't something any board should do. The Evic Mini was/is a great little mod, my wife still uses one, one 18650 in it easily lasts her 2 days of vaping at 15W.

Could be your batteries are getting old? I'm no battery expert, but I can imagine an old battery having a hard time in single mode and having a bit easier time in dual mode.

@airwinny I have 6 sony batterie, 4 of which are brand new. Maybe it's because I vape too much lol, yet the same batteries last 4 times more on the other mod. I'll try to update the firmware on my evic vtc mini.
However I'd be curious to know if this SXK tends to drain batteries more than any box with a DNA 60 etc.
Do you own this SXK?

I have owned a Billet Box with a 70W SXK board in it, I'm not sure if this is the same board, but it probably is. Mine drained the battery when it wasn't in use, but I've read other people saying it doesn't do that anymore.

Mine broke down after not much use, so I won't be buying any SXK boards anymore. But that's just personal experience, plenty of people have well functioning SXK mods.
That's the thing with all this cheap electronics: if you have one that works, it'll work fine. But the chance is bigger that it won't work than with a more expensive board like a DNA, because part of the price is also quality control.

It's like buying a water cooker. There's really not much difference between a $15 and a $90 water cooker, in functionality. They'll both work fine. There's just a much bigger chance the $90 one will work a lot longer.
