@XDM45ACP

It should and not sure why Richy's didn't, may have been customs that changed bag?

In any case Richy did the tests on the filters and they seem to be legit.

My mask is here but the filters will be here tomorrow and I will also do some tests to confirm. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Fits great.

Oh I also put tape on the breathing valves (inside mask) as they say that way it will also protect others in case you may be asymptomatic and works fine without restricting breathing much.

Reason is some states here will not let you into store with a respirator that has valves.

Being blocked, it is then OK to use. πŸ‘

Fluctuates these days with not working much and having time to cook more. Lol

Have to watch out, have friends that have gained 10 to 15lbs under quarantining rules. Lol

Been keeping up with exercise and lots of walking.

Yep, I'm normally 175, to 185 lol. Two of my daughters, and I walk about 4 to 5 miles a day.:)

I retired as Ranger. Now I work handy service for folks in my community. They pay better, are much more considerate, and appreciate my service much better. I'm more affordable than most. I like helping the less fortunate too. In these times, I feel we need more consideration for those in need. I'm doing what I can :)

I quit enabling the *non-profit* organization I worked for. The corporate greed is over the top in that one. In fact, most are like this these days. Couldn't be happier with my decision to leave.

I've already had many calls from old clients from my glass shop days. I've decided they can't afford my service. I'd rather work for those that appreciate, and deserve my service, plus I'm more diverse as a handy service. I already have more work than I can do for now anyway :)

Filters arrived today, in a grey ziplock bag.

Cannot find KN95 on bag, but does say PM2.5 and protects against viral influenza

I was asking because of this post.

Richy7 wrote:

All i CAN say is i cleaned and opened the outer packaging inspected them through the inner packaging which visually looked correct but.... nowhere on the product which arrives in clear packaging does it say KN95 !!!! either on the mask OR the inserts....

Because on mask packaging it clearly states KN95 and PM2.5

And I was under the impression your mask was also in clear packaging .

So your mask did come in packaging like above pic correct?

But your filter packaging did not look like this?

Now on the filters I did mention it did not say anywhere it was KN95, but it does say PM 2.5 and did say protects for viral influenza.

I looked up size of viral influenza compared to covid19 and they are comparable in microns.

Either way I did do some test on one of the filters and some coparable masks I had with multiple layers and they do seem legit and will probably protect just fine. πŸ˜‰

The seal on mask , when wearing, I think is comparable or better than my 3m N95 respirator.

I did find some interesting testing on N95 vs surgical masks.

Look here

Test show that the surgical masks are slightly better than N95, by a small percent.

Differences weren’t significant, although surgical mask users actually had slightly lower infection rates.

Researchers in Canada randomly assigned 446 nurses to wear N95 or surgical masks during a few months of cold and flu seasons (September to December). Then they tracked how many got the flu or a cold.

Again, no significant difference! Both masks performed just as well at preventing the transmission of the viruses. About 9% percent of nurses wearing surgical masks got sick versus 10% wearing N95 masks.

Just thought that interesting as surgical mask does not seal as well as a N95 mask.

Good to know info though, for people using surgical mask, as there was controversy that not sealing well may be an issue, which apparently it is not. lol
