Will this do for a homeless person?
Will it work during the winter too, down to -10C?

Stuff like this works pretty much in all climates....the fuel bottles are a little pricy but not unaffordable. Imo this would do fine for a homeless person as long as there was at least a little income. I do not see a wind screen provided though.
I'm out.....have some fun. Eh?

It should as it's only a nozzle meant for use with butane canisters.

As the nozzle itself is copper and if there is a mechanism inside it might freeze at lower temperatures.
But that is easily fixed within seconds with a lighter or with one of these babies:

-10°C is peanuts for us living in near polar areas. :-)

The boiling point of butane is just below zero centigrade therefore low ambient temperature is a problem. If the bottle/cannister temp is lower than the boiling point of the LPG inside then it cannot vapourise so there will effectively be no gas available for use ! Propane is generally used for low temperature situations but a butane/propane mix is often available in cannisters for portable stoves and so on for use at temperatures lower than those appropriate for pure butane. Bottom line: For low temperature use you need to use the 'right' LPG and burner jets.

I have something like this and it works great...

We even made a large pot of chili once with it while camping...

If its like ours it uses a Butane Propane fuel mixture not the regular propane bottles...

It would be great for a homeless person because its small and will not take up much room in a bag...
There are 3 types of people in this world, those who can count and those who cant!
