I don't think that the plastic, with this tiny o-ring would hold the chimney eternally...

I see some threads on the top of the chimney. Maybe that's how it keeps it all together.

It seems chimney is threaded onto the tank. That oring needs to grip that chimney strong (the grip force must be higher than the force of oring on the deck gripping on to the chimney)... or else the chimney will be stuck to the deck everytime you remove tank to refill haha
