Very prone to flooding, much more finicky to wick than I thought.

There has to be something that's missing or broken. I have two v2 clones, one of which was the cheapest available at the time, and I've never had any leaking. Sometimes my wicks will be a little on the dry side if packed too tightly, but I certainly don't hold back on the rayon when wicking the dvarw. In fact I usually pack the entire sides of the deck with fluffed up rayon which after trial and error seems to work best for my build and vaping style. If I use too little material I start entering flood / gurgle territory.

One thing I have noticed is the air flow insert screw occasionally requires a tightening as it can work itself loose. If it's not tight I could see juice seeping into the airflow, but I assume you've already inspected the airflow insert. Perhaps try swapping in a new airflow insert to rule it out as a culprit.

First of all, thanks to Gatok and AlienGrey for the details provided regarding the wicking of the Dvarw.

I take this topic to ask if there is an editing trick when the juice has a high percentage of VG? For example 80%?
In 50/50 the build of Gatok or AlienGrey works very well, but as soon as I have a thicker juice I am at the limit of dry hit.
Is Dvarw not supposed to have thick juices?
I specify that I vape at 23/25 W with Ni80 26/36 clapton coils (6 or 7 turns on a 2.5 mm axis).

Thank you in advance to those who will take the time to answer me.
Sorry beforehand for my bad English.

If I thin out the cotton, and make sure the juice holes aren't completely covered (pushing the cotton a bit away from the hole, to leave a tiny gap at the top of the hole), I can get away with 80VG.

But it's fiddly, and too much hassle for me. Much easier to simply add a few drop of distilled water to my bottle of juice.

23/25 Watts is too much power; this, combined with the clapton coil, evaporates more e-juice than the wicking can provide. Also, the chances that your liquid gets cooked are high, due to the reduced airflow and small chamber size. This is true for almost any mtl system.

I recommend you to use simple rounded wire, Kanthal or SS; 26, 28 or 30 AWG. If you want to use complex coils, go for some super fine mtl claptons or fused claptons. 30x2 + 40 should be fine.

One thing you can try with higher VG is too make a hole in the cotton so the juice goes further in the wick and the base.

It's possible that I get away with using little cotton because I vape at 9 Watt with a 8 wraps 27 AWG Kanthal around 2.5mm coil. This gives me a cooler vape and doesn't heat up the DVARW MTL much and I need that as a chain vaper.

Maybe it's also important to say that I make sure that the tip of the cotton wick does touch the deck.

The thing is, I really don't think there is a type of wick that "fits all". You can see that some people can have dry hits at times, where for others it can be flooding. (Dry hits are really the exact opposite of flooding. DH: Juice isn't feed enough, and flooding: Too much juice is fed.)

Saying: What works for one may not work for someone else. This is why this atty IMO is "finicky", and it's likely that everyone needs to find their own way of wicking, depending how they vape and what juices they vape.

If you have dry hits and/or when you vape very high VG...I'd basically try the exact opposite of what I am doing when it's flooding: Use very lose cotton, make sure juice can freely flow inside from the chamber

You talk about the cap part and the "hat" of the cap?

If I remove the chimney/chamber side (that part with the holes) with the top cap, and get to the bare base, is there more to disassemble? (Aside from the screws and the airflow inserts, of course)

undo all the three screws in the deck, two post screws and the airflow adaptor screw, and take the 510 pin out, then separate the deck and check the seal under the deck and see if its seated right
