5 to 7 wraps, 2.5 diameter of kanthal 28.

3mm is too much even with 50/50 liquids

How is 3mm 'too much'- in what way?

3mm is a bad wicking, very poor feeding. With 2.5mm i found to be the best for the amount of cotton.
I use koh gen do witch is one if not the best cotton. I found to be better than cotton bacon v2 in terms of flavour and more easy to use.
Give it a try.

9 wraps of 0.4mm Kanthal on 2.3mm for just over 1 ohm. Scottish Roll wicking with Puff Cotton. Really good results, around 20w, 50/50 PG/VG

i only vape in mtl way and tc so is not suggested for unregulated mods.
What i like to use with this kind of rtas is 316l: awg28 9/10 wraps 2,5mm
(low wattages 9 to 11)
9 wraps 26awg can be good too, but i prefer the first listed atm.

28 AWG 316L SS is good too 9-10 wraps on a 2.5mm coil.

I did 9 wraps on 3mm. Rayon wick, trimmed to fit the cutouts. 1.11 ohms, I vape 50/50 e-liquid at around 8.5w in wattage mode, or in TC at 310°F with 9.5 for the watts limit. Or so says my mod anyway (Pico 75w), can that be right? 310F?

I would set the watts limit higher, for quicker ramp-up, and to ensure you aren't actually capping the mod, and effectively running in power mode. 8.5 or 9.5w or 310 seems very cool, I would run a coil that size at 20w or more.

Nah, 28 awg kanthal (0.32mm), 2.5 mm coil, 8 wraps, 1.5 ohm @ 12 watts, organic cotton, air flow shut right down for tight draw. Great taste.
