ø22mm and ø25mm both spare the same size of Air flow slot 1.5mm x 10mm
base on the M2.5mm post screw holes on the photo
its seem like ø25mm is slightly wider than ø22mm which is ø4mm air hole on single coil deck.
and it has dual air holes on the velocity dual post deck...so maybe little bit airy on dual coil setup...

The original serpent had a 4.2mm airflow hole and it was perfect .... I ordered a mini 22mm and sold it immedeately because of it's useless 3.8mm hole which was too restricted for a satisfying lung hit and too open for mtl .... so useless device for me....

In terms of dual coil-decks there are definitely better options out there like the Herakles RTA2 or the griffin 25 plus ....

So they just fucked up since the serpent mini for me .... and the products to come ... aside from the sapor RTA are just useless in my opinion ....

even if you name the fact that you can change decks on this one ... the cthulhu v3 has you covered ...

So ... i don't know why they did not keep the airflow-design of the original serpent .... it was perfect in my opinion.

The Sapor-RTA on the other hand is quite good and almost leak free. Also it's perfect for beginners as you can't make many mistakes on it (it just doesn't flood as long as a little bit of cotton is in the channels ...)

I'd like to see the old serpent in either a 25mm version or a improved 22mm version, as it truly was a Kayfun-flavour with the convenience of top-fill and the best draw I've ever seen on any single-coil RTA

I did a little recap of the 22mm serpent mini .... (could grab a used one from E-b-a-y)

completely disassembled it (meaning, I pushed the press-fitted parts out of the main body, and did a look on the air-holes for the main air-source.

What I found was metal scraps all over the little bores they made to get air into that big 3.8mm airhole ... which made the draw way more resticted.

I filed these airholes to a nice round shape (like they were intended) and put everything back together....

Now the airflow is:

A: Smooooooooooth .... you can really do a nice restricted lung inhale which feels very much like the old original serpent just slightly more restricted .... but really just slightly.

B: Direct to the coil ..... meaning the coil really is the last point of restriction if you build it directly in the center, which allows all the nuances in the juice to come out beautifully.

conclusion:

it seems like I was again pretty much fucked up by bad QC .....

If you're lucky enough to get a finely-machined version .... More power to you, it's an amazing little atty ....

recommended for everyone that can work a little bit with metal.

I can confirm that this 25mm version has a lot more airflow than the 22mm. =) (single coil deck installed)
I have to run it in this position to get the restriction where I like it. Just a bit more open than 22mm. At full open its way too much air for me.
I'll be in and out.
