Am I wrong in thinking using the pico with an 18500 gives you wider tanks?

Sure, you can:)
I've got a dead kangsin vamo box, its cap fits. (kayfun v3.1 connector plate, + 1mm little magnet, can't remember but something like that...) But it's not totally flush so am not sure about the KS, Vapor had an other trick...
But for most of the bigger tanks in D you need higher wattage, so not sure about 18500 bats. For the Kronos (I guess),Hurricane and the FEV (I tried) you need nothing to change they fit, for the Taifun V2 I sanded off the knurlings, it fits now ;)

four of thease in series....

16.8V with a 3A load 50.4W across 5.6 ohms twisted 32G kanthal (2x wires) coil...sounds like it doesnt need high amp rateings to be used by someone who knows how to vape high voltage high resistance.

The potential for cell imbalance increases as the amount of cells in series increases. You're right, but
A: That's a big, heavy mod
B: Cell imbalance potential - Would require a balance charger to be safe. The $30 imax/turnigy/etc are ok but really, budget about $100 for a Junsi iCharger or similar. Then you need to diy your own charging harnesses.
C: 16.8v fully charged but dropping to more like 13.2v as the battery discharges. That's a lot of power dropoff on what is probably quite a large coil.
D: 50w is possible from 2x18650 and you will still get decent battery life

Vaping these 4s is possible but not practical.

You gain so little space with an 18500 mod compared to an 18650 why bother ?

BS. They clearly haven't mastered 18650 mod miniaturization like they do with 18500 mods like the MiniVolt or the Air50. The difference is night and day, almost twice the size and weight.

A lot of the newer LED emitters are 6 volt and require two li-ion in series. With the shorter batteries people can get the voltage required and still EDC the light.

That's definitely one application of this cell size. You can mod a single 26650 flashlight to drive a 6V emitter like the 18W XHP50 or even the 32W XHP70... HD2010 on steroids?

Or you can shorten an existing dual 26650 light with a shorter tube... Trying to imagine a 'short' Convoy L6 or Thorfire S70...

Thanks cilika. I have a Pico in the mail because I hear it's mandatory to own one. The KS is "special" in looks but functionality is quite good. I was hoping to jamb it on the Pico but we'll see.

I just rebuilt this. It's no looker but it's my best set it and forget it setup so far so I figured I'd show it. I've had it for a long time but I've only used it 7 or 8 times. It's my campfire + beer setup.

The KS is SKU 3390300 with a plastic washer on the 510 for better hybrid. The Dos Equis is the FC aluminum one. It's 7ml and 7000 mah with SKU 2399300. It weighs 247 grams with juice and batteries in and it's 112mm tall excluding the drip tip.

My interests include logic and reason. If you have a problem with that that's your problem. Lose the simpleton attack fallacies, learn how to think and act sensibly, or get lost.

If the KS has a longer adjustable pin and you cut off a washer, you could put it on the Pico with the battery cover mentioned above. If you have a mini vamo box. If not, I'd just try with a replacement smpl switch by taking out the spring (or magnets)...
