I think I got a dud...
1. Battery life totally blows. 3.5 hours is the LONGEST I can get out of it using a 3500mah battery at 30 warts using a .5 coil in a cubis pro. 3 hours is average. Took it with me on a 2 hours jaunt to a store, shopping, and back and the sucker was almost dead when I got home. It sat in the car while I was inside the store for about an hour too. At home I can take 3-4 4 second pulls and let it sit for 20-30 mins and then repeat. 3 hours or less and it says weak battery. Using BRAND NEW batteries too. When it says weak battery the batts read 3.45 volts. People claiming they are getting 11.5 hours with a 3000mah battery at 1 ohm and 20 warts. Right..... I put my Avocado 24 built to 1 ohm and ran it at 20 watts and got maybe between 3.5 hours and 4 hours off of it.

2. It starting to flash atomizer short. With a cubis, my cleito, my avacado, and my Crown. Out of the clear blue. I unscrew atty..fire it, screw atty back down and it's fine for an hour or so then starts with the atomizer short again. Cleaned the 510...doesn't matter....does it again. 3 different types of batteries..same.

3. Does both problems the same on 1.0 and 1.1 firmware.

But on the bright side it gave me an atomizer low warning when I was not paying attention and ran my cubis pro dry! :) Never even read about that warning...but pretty cool.

Anyone else having miscues or did I just win the FU lottery with mine?

I think I got a rock.....

Sounds like something wrong TBH - another user was posting that they were having a similar experience to you, whereas other people were vaping half a dozen mls on one charge.

I wonder how many people end up with mods like this, but don't know any better and just put up with it?

Have you tried plugging in you numbers into Steamengine and comparing the numbers to the runs you're getting?

Sounds like you really won the FU lottery, sorry to hear. I bought 3 of these for on my vacation trip, running them all three with a cleito on top. 0.4ohm coil, 47 watts, and I can easily empty 3 tanks on one battery. No issues whatsoever.

Have hardly heard of any issues with these picos, I'd send it back if I were you.

Yes. Steam Engine ESTIMATES that I should be getting around 240 puffs.( 5 second pulls ) I have never on any mod been able to match steam engines GUESSTIMATES. Using HG2 batt.

At taking a 4 hits every 20-30 mins I'm getting around 40 hits total. ( pathetic )

Steam engine is FOS because it says that my Mini Volt at 20 watts and .8 ohms should give 180 hits and that will NEVER HAPPEN. ZERO, NADA, BS, That's a negative ghost rider, the pattern is full....

But I'm pretty sure the Pico should be giving me more than 40 hits off of a single battery. My 2 heatvape Invaders that use only 1 batt do better than my pico.

I think you've got to match what SE calls a 'puff' and how long your tokes are.

I know it becomes a little more difficult to calculate when things like pre-heat is used, or features like the Min/Soft/Norm/Hard/Max settings on the XCubes/Koopors/H-PRiv(?).

the battery cap in this mod is the main reason for all the pain in this world
clean the negative contact with sand paper till the "-" sign disappear and do not screw it too tight when you insert the battery

Yep I reckon you have a bad one. I posted my results a few day ago using my Pico.

Coil: 1ohm
Wattage: 20W
Tank: Pico
Battery: Samsung 30Q
Juice consumed: 9.5ml

Total battey life: 11.5hrs

Mod was never powered off for the duration and it was vaped a lot as you can judge from 9.5ml of juice consumed on a 1ohm coil.

Don't use sandpaper if the contact is plated - use a pen(cil) eraser instead.

So you reckon that the battery cap is responsible for quite a bit of voltage drop then?

If this is the case, shouldn't the battery cap get warm - I mean, after all, that wasted energy has to go somewhere, doesn't it?

EDIT - That's right - it was a thread that IRISH_OS1R1S posted about the Pico battery life that people were talking about their run-times.

Someone did say a few days ago that battery life on his stainless was terrible but on his all black pico is was great. Don't know if that has anything to do with it, just thought I would mention it. Either way 3hrs from a 3500mah battery is not right.

Edit: My test was on the all black Pico ftr.

Well, over the last 3 hours I have vaped a Cubis (0.2ohm) at 32W down to the top of the coil so thats about 35% of the tank. The VTC4 was fully charged when I started but is now less than a quarter on the battery bar so my experience is similar. I am not complaining. My room is well fogged up.

I'm wondering what builds are being run for this setup.

Are they, per chance some sort of thick gauge or Clapton wire?

That could explain the very inefficient power use, imo.
