yes, so joyetech can not track the reseller that sold it to FT. Still, it is 100% authentic

there is a sticky post somewhere about these issues...

I need to make a file on this.

Fast tech's business model is based on volume, so they want to sell to we lucky people at the lowest price possible. However, a lot of manufacturers acknowledge that the west is a lucrative market that can support much higher retail prices than other territories. Therefore they enforce MAP agreements on their retailers, so Chinese based companies don't undercut their American and European supply chains. If a seller is found to be breaking that agreement, the factory will pull their contract to supply. So, as FT refuse to work within such strictures, a lot of factories have boycotted them, meaning that FT sources products through a third party. Said third party gets to buy in large quantities, thus securing better terms, and makes a fast buck fulfilling bulk orders that don't hang around in their inventory - so their cash flow looks better. FT pay a little over the trade bulk price, and can still sell to us at a fair price on most items.

If you bought a product sourced in this way, and made a warranty claim with the factory, they would need to know where you purchased it from. In doing that, and by supplying the serial number, they would know who sold the item to fast tech and most likely end up severing their ties with them - which would be bad for everyone.

But what if you do need to make a warranty claim? Well most Chinese factory warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on anyway, so by buying from FT, you get more chance of having an issue solved quickly and efficiently. Essentially this 'suspicious activity' as it is seen by some, is simply a way of getting us better prices, and better after sales service, instead of supporting factories who want to artificially cap competition in the marketplace, so their precious American and European B&Ms can sell the same thing for three times the price.

There would be no reason to remove authentication codes or serial numbers from non-authentic items.

LOL! VERY good point! I wouldn't have thought of it that way.

First of all Joyetech recommend to buy their products from reputable resellers. Shorting , having connection issues and unknown battery expectancy devices coming as copycats. Moreover if you didn't buy " All in one package" including sleeve, tank, coils and bought it from different that recognized reseller , most probably you bought the fake:(

Are brand name products authentic or not?

Why are codes on boxes and bottles scratched off, and why are pages from product leaflets missing? In order to continue offering low prices to all customers, FastTech's suppliers and supply channels remove all traceable materials that potentially identifies themselves. This is so that the original brands and makers would not force FastTech into higher prices by increasing their wholesale costs charged to FastTech's suppliers.

Ah yes, but you could stick on a fake authentic sticker, then peel it off, making it look like an authentic authentic :) Or something.

Yeah, but if that was true (which it very clearly isn't), then we all now know about it. Ergo, factories will be sending out packaging which have never had labels on them, as a double bluff.
