I have tried a few different builds and styles of wicking with the v1 but imho I feel like vertical coils with the pancake style of wicking is the best for this. I actually learned this method from one of Johnny469's wonderful and informative posts. The flavor is outstanding and not one bit of leaking. I would assume that you could do the same for the v2.

I know this wasn't a goliath but, I applied the same technique.

I wanted to make those vertical coils but i seem to have an inability to bend the legs of wires just the right way.
Same with coils that one has to put in holes under screws, such as the Lemo 2?

I can have a professional, perfect coil right in front of me but no matter what, I can't seem to bend the legs this way or that way exactly as I see it in front of me.
Only time i am heard swearing is trying to get those legs bent at the exact right spot, to get them under and into those holes and I HATE that part of setting up the Lemo 2. Knowing that, I knew parallel coils would be equally frustrating and I have only managed to look on with envy at those that can do them correctly.

My stronger end is wicking them just right....my weaker end is making anything beyond a simple coil :(

Hear vertical coils are great......will have to try again one day....

I think I do 6 wraps of 28 gauge, 2.5 mm id. Mine checks out at .56 ohm ( dual coil ) or something close.

I also checked the coil height. I have my coils sitting just under the level plane of the post holes. I think maybe closer to 1.5 mm above the air intake. I did nudge them down as close as I dare ( about 1mm ). So far, not much different than what I had, but I think we are about the same here :)

edit: I meant to reply that I use this on a mech so somewhere around 25 watts? I used this on the ZNA and was able to take it to 50 watts without any issues. It kept right up with no dry hits, but just a little too warm for me. Anywhere between 25 and 40 watts is great IMO :)

50 watts?
I don't really need to go beyond 25 or 3 watts...I just find, personally, that the taste is perfect for me at 25/30 yet any higher it drinks juice much quicker and/or i blow clouds.
I live in an area of Toronto where NO ONE smokes. Even vaping is rarely seen.
Live across from a tennis club/courts and 50 year olds are in far better shape than any 20 year old so smoking is not looked upon favourably where i am and i doubt many would think that of vaping either...A lot of surgeons live around me ;) So I try to keep the clouds down :)

But again, I think wattage is irrelevant only because everyone just happens to like theirs at a different spot.
I imagine I vape mine at 25-30 lower than most??!!
Especially if you say you do it at 50 but if that works for you........then that's the perfect spot for you...

Not sure what the rest in this thread vape at though?!!

I just edited my last post to reflect what you just said Shelagh :)

.5 ohm builds work best for me at around 25 watts I think. We are all different though. As you have said, what works for one may not work for others :)
