Not very. Mine has paint coming off all over it. I'm thinking about stripping all the paint and making it silver.

And I've been using one for months and there's not a speck of paint coming off.

I have not seen paint coming off an authentic STM. And I have quite a few friends using them. One of then is a barbarian who is on his third tank glass, his has chips in the paint from being dropped on concrete, but has to be one of the most abused attys there is, and still works perfectly.

Many of the clones shed paint both inside, and outside of the tank.

I have one and it is loosing paint on the inside. I think it flakes off during cleanings because I never see any floating in the juice.

Thank you... God, thank you all. I'm looking at the black protank 4. The photos seem to show the black coming off. Nothing mentioned in those discussion's. Looked at this & got my answer.
I would have been very pissed off if I put out 25 bucks for a bad paint job.

I'm using my Subtank ( Black ) for about 1 1/2 years now and the Paint on the Inside is starting to goin off.
I don't know what is causing this since i'm just using hot water to clean it inside the Tank.
I Think that some sorts of Liquid ( maybe Menthol ) are causing this.

The Pieces of the Paint are sometimes "swimming" inside the Liquid.

My advise, take the silver One .....

Old post, so I'm sorry for reviving. I have a Subtank Mini and a Toptank Mini both in black. The paint on the outside has been chipping since I got them (over a year ago), but recently the paint started chipping inside and ended up in my liquid. I got the NitoMors Paint Stripper from out of the shed and removed the paint from both. They look brand new now. The pictures I've taken are terrible due to my crappy old phone so I won't share them. The paint in the engraved text didn't come off when I did mine and they now look awesome with the SS finish and black paint inside the engraving. In the future I'll happily buy a coloured tank (if it's cheaper) providing the material is SS, and just strip the paint from it.

I been using mine now for couple years and no paint coming off mine I use strictly tobacco flavor juices and no sweet sugary juices in my tank so cant say if its the sweetner in the sugary juices cause you all paint plms but been using mine all day every day since had it and loving it I have the black and also the ss one and I have the black nano toptank and the ss toptank and the black nano the paint was wearing off it and I sanded it down to ss by the way all mine are authentic not clones
