Fixing the charging problems
For a start, I recommend you to THROW AWAY the FAULTY USB CABLE supplied with this charger, as I had all sorts of problems trying to use this VC4. I finally purchased a separate POWER ADAPTER from the bay and now it works fantastic. Here is a description for you :) (not sold here at FastTech)

New AC 100V-240V Converter Adapter DC 5V 2.5A 12.5W Power Supply AU 5.5mm 2500mA

This one has an Australian plug, so be sure to order the appropriate plug for your region. I will also be including a picture for this fix, in the review section for this charger. (hope it's approved)

Hope this helps everyone :)

In all likelihood, there is not an issue with the USB cable, but rather with your expectations of the power output of what you are plugging the cable into. Since no data functions are being used, the cable's working status is one of two things: a) transfers power, or b) does not transfer power. Nothing else is relevant. "All sorts of problems" is rather nonspecific.

That said, 2500mA of known consistent power would be an improvement for those who do not know the characteristics of the USB power source, for which well under that output would be the correct expectation for the general case, per the USB "standard".

In all likelihood? LOL, go bite your bum! Were you a bit bored? Maybe with a need to spew out some useless information empiric? Voltage drop is very problematic in electronics and I have found a cheap fix..

The charger did not work properly, not just for me, but for many other users as well. I was using a 3 amp power supply and experienced all sorts of charging difficulties with the supplied USB cable. I found the USB cable has major voltage drop problems where it fit's into the charger.

It's cheaper to buy this new wall socket charger, than to muck around with new USB cables.

The charger now 'works like a charm'. Cheers.

IGNORE the charger I listed was only 2000mah (pity it was only 2quid :/)

PSA - Charger MUST be over 2000mah ideally 2500, minimum 2100.

FT do sell a proven product

SKU 1826300

so use that or find something similar to the black power adaptor shown in the image above.

SKU 1826300 - Authentic Samsung 2A USB AC Wall Charger Travel Adapter (UK Plug)

He is probably not far off.
What you are taking for a voltage drop is more likely to be a voltage colapse caused by lack of sufficient current.

Test the max current output of your usb source with resistor on the output of SKU 1859500.
2Ω/10W will set it up for a current draw of 2.5A at 5V.
4Ω/10W will set it up for a current draw of 1.25A at 5V.
Look at what happen to the voltage when the source can not supply enough current.

Or buy this on the bay if you don't want to make one on your own.

Just received a new wall charger cable from the bay and WOW! Charges in less than half the time, now.
I don't see it dropping under .5 anymore, where it used to drop to .05 on occasion.
Kudos for the tip.
