to each his own, no criticism if you bought one - fill your boots, wish it was a LOT lighter so i could buy a couple... but it is 6x heavier than it needs to be, for me.

Be interested to see how much weight taking out the atty extender thingammy for drippers saves.

The reason i am active in this thread is because i wish to help return some hype for mods of the side by side design... I think there is a way to go before these devices are fully evolved

Never happen nowadays but i'd love to see one for a 14-16mm tank and a 14500

edit: i've seen the above done in the 2xAA battery boxes but i am not 100% happy about my air coming from inside the mod, inside where battery venting is

Extender weighs just under 31grams, 270 grams is with no battery, no atomizer, no extender.

been tempted since ever for a microstick

cheap enough to get a real one if they're ever in stock now they're discontinued here.

It may not be the most practical device, but I do like the way it looks :)

I figure it will likely sit on the desk as an always ready, and double duty as a paper weight :D I still have aluminum Nemi tubes setup for 18350's. I usually have one riding shotgun in a cargo pocket when I'm working.

A perfect summary.

Sure there are more practical and lighter mods even though the Phantus is small for portability. I compare it to those large and heavy decorative coffee table lighters from years ago, some that were moulded into large hunks of crystal. You had to use two hands to hold and operate it but it sure looked nice compared to a plain Zippo. You didn't hear people bitch about how impractical those were.

rangermsr If you want something that the Merlin really fits in nicely, the Gizmo is it. very little restriction on the air flow as well.

That does fit nicely :)...and I already have one :D I also have the microstick.

I tried the Merlin in the microstick, but it wouldn't tighten enough to make contact / fire. Probably the same reason as the Phantus :(

Ah well, it's not like a don't have other atty's that will fit :)

unrealistic expectations lend to disappointment

Nice one. Sadly, it is the 23.5mm atty version and the only stuff i use at 20+ is drippers. Annoying that as it's also the one that uses my beloved 18500s and is cheap enough to attempt regulated mod hacks

Other options though :D

LOL

I have bitched about it.. back when i smoked I looked at them for desk use because i wanted a lighter with a large gas capacity. Something that fitted directly to a can of refill gas would be ideal. I hunted around the tabletop lighters and bitched that all that wasted housing space could have been used to make it last months on a fill lol
