Pretty sure it's 40 A pulse rating. VTC4 is still king and although I use AWT cells, they only rewrap (possibly testing to higher specs as per AW - at least that's what a reliable vendor told me), it's probably a Samsung or LG.

Review of this battery: http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/AWT IMR18650 2500mAh (Yellow).html

Compare with Samsung 25R here: Common 18650 comparator
The discharge curves look strikingly similar, but AWR's voltage is a bit higher. Maybe HKJs tested 25R were toast.

I have got 4 of these and 4 purple efest 35a that i use in my sigelei 150watt, these last the longest and fire my sigelei at 150watts no problem, all the way down to about 35%, the efest stop firing that high at about 40- 38%, so they are pretty decent. Also when charging on my xtar vc2 they finish charging at almost exactly the same time and the reading for the mah is within less than 10mah of each other, whereas the efest are usually out by about 100mah and one will charge for a good few minutes longer. I have only had them for a few weeks but so far they are really good imo.

Those reviews are for the 35amp/2500mah version, not for this one. Although they won't be much different, just a little better.

These are graded VTC5 rewraps. They also do one based on VTC4s, which if they haven't listed already, will most likely list soon.

I've had lengthy arguments about this with a couple of people, who passionately insisted that these were genuine 40A cells, which are superior to Sonys. The argument was won by unwrapping a couple, as the case fortunately still had the Sony product info printed on them (not all graded cells do).

Here's a somewhat speculative list of what's under the wrapper of some popular brands.
