Sugestions on a more modern alternative to this?
When i moved to lower ohm stuff i gave my two subtank mini's to my father. They have worked pretty well for him for a couple of years but i think now he is tired of how easily the tanks gets burned when he gets low on juice. His eyes is no longer what they once was i guess, but also the juice intakes of the coil sits very high and its obvious this tank now is aged. So im looking for a more modern replacement for this. He does a mouth to lung and i usually bought the 1.2 ohm coils for him since he seems to like those. So -what should i buy for someone that does mouth to lung at relatively low watts that is as easy as possible to fill and wont easily burn the coil when the juice level gets low?

Nautilus mini is still a very good and relevant mtl tank. The nautilus 2 takes the same coil heads and is a bit more modern of a design, so one of those two would be my suggestion for a higher ohm mtl vaper. There another tank called the kabuki or something like that, it takes nautilus coils also and is highly praised.

Why not just upgrade his existing setup?

They sell all the parts separately here to piece together a totally custom look, top fill Subtank Mini also.

I really like the shorty top fill tank sections myself (better flavor because shorter chimney). The ones without holes in the top cap are best, imo. Options here. I have SKU 3535802 and love it.

Plenty of AFC bases with color options. I prefer the v1 airflow, SKU 2340100.

Lots of colored glass options.

Even the RBA plus is reasonably priced, enough so you could buy several and pre-build them.

Another thought is the nano RBA with bottom juice channels. They're also really easy to modify for more juice flow if needed. A bead reaming tool/file is sufficient to grind the channels larger by hand. Took me about 20 minutes to mod mine and it's a bit more MTL friendly than the RBA plus (slightly less airflow in the deck).

It is very unfortunate that pretty much nothing better has come along to replace the subtank mini and this clone certainly falls well short. I have a couple toptanks but find them too small and leaky by comparison. This clone can be repaired and made to work better with some effort and a few rare special tools, but the price is absurdly high for such an item. Thanks to those who suggested alternatives.

When I got the subtank mini I gave up trying other tanks. I'm set for many years. The clones have worked flawlessly for me and the price compared to others can't be beat.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one my fine furry friend. ;) Mine have proven to be only useful in severe hand to hand combat and should be avoided otherwise. I will say it again: too bad Kanger stopped making them. Nothing else works as well, including these clones. At least not without a degree in metallurgy and proper machining.
