martinc wrotes:

I`ve ditched the OCC coils on mine and only using the RBA...it works so well, you wont go back.

yeah pretty much what im gonna do. i will consume the included OCC coils and stay with the rba.

btw, i learned something from other forum, you just need to fire the mod for 3-4sec if spitbacks ocurs, and it will be fine. tried it and it will work for a while, but spitbacks will come back after few minutes. sucks

+1 details
Just rebuild them with a vertical chimney coil between 1.6mm ID and 2.5mm ID. Smaller diameter will have more vacuum, larger diameter will allow more airflow.

You get more wick surface making contact with the coil when you put a chimney coil in them and the coil doesn't block the path of the air.

nr-r-nr wires work best for this wicked with rayon/cellucotton IMO

You want thin wires for chimney coils, and they work marvelously in parallel btw ;-)

Here's a thread about chimney coils and another thread where I put one in a vivi nova coil head (should be rather similar to putting one in a subtank coil also).

This build worked amazing for protank coil heads, and the Vertical OCC atlantis coils are the same thing so...

Guys i have my subtank mini till late January and i have noticed these spitbacks with the coils as well. Most of them were with the 1.2 coil heads.I had only one 1.2 head so i vaped about 20mls juice and never tried again(cause of the spitback). Now with the 0.5 coil heads that i've ordered a pack of five, I did notice that if I was running them lower than 25 watts this spitback would remain(with airflow wide open). When i set the power to 25 watts where IMO the coil is at its best there was no spitback at all with both 50/50 juice or even 70/30 (VG/PG).The rba section on the other hand is a lot better for flavor and fog hands down.

spitbacks happen to me in random.. really annoying. any OCC (0.5 and 1.2) gives me good vape and all of the sudden horible spitbacks happen. im done with the OCC coils. im sticking to the RBA. i hope my lemo has this much airflow. i still love the lemo. only that the air draw just too tight.

I wonder what the short-lived Bottom Coil Dual Plane heads were like? This current design seems really flawed. I'm not even sure that they use the best cotton. I put really good cotton in them when I rebuild them and they get soaked like an overdripped RDA, hardly producing any vapor.
KF4 Leaking? For a more secure seal, replace the o-ring #16 with one that is 1.5mm cross section. SKU 1536606 or SKU 1536607

stock are Spaced coils which commonly spit back. Try rebuilding with micro-coil. Mine has no issues after that.

sounds like a plan.. will try that later. but will it be more prone to dryhits/burnt taste if we use microcoil? base on my experience in my lemo. microcoil is almost always prone to dryhits. standard spaced 26 coil, 7wraps at 28W is my sweetspot

The best solution is vertical build.

I know ;-)

Thin, twisted wires for the most flavor, spaced coils for the biggest clouds, micro coils for the best all-around.

Parallel coils with thin wires to elevate any one of them ;-)
