I'd really not recommend it, as that was one of the key issues with the iffy batch. Sure, you'll probably be fine, but personally I wouldn't tempt fate. I love my CPM, and it hasn't had a single issue. However, I'd not get it near a USB cable, just in case it changes all that.

Mine charges fine; received it a couple of months after the charger issue was hitting the headlines. I was not going to use it for charging but my battery charger and the evolv charging board on my DNA 40 mod both died, and the CP-mini was the only 18650 charger left in the house so I played Russian roulette and won. I think it's fine; it does not even get warm.

I use USB to charge it, but always right where I'm working and not away from it, even passthru sometimes. Have a tight silicone wrap on it that's a pain to remove, otherwise would just swap batteries. The glue spewed into and over the circuit boards don't inspire confidence.
Peace be with you ...

Ouch. You've used the USB for charging before?

I fried one of my 3 CMs back when I didn't have a charger. However, the one that fried I used as pass-thru several times and the last time it got RALLY hot. I believe that it was using it as pass-thru that fried it. I'm sure the manual says not to use as pass-thru (or not) but I never read it.

Good luck with Cloupor honoring their warranty, they gave me the runaround (this was before I came to the conclusion it was me that killed it). If you bought it from FT, they definitely won't honor your warranty. That's why it says right above the price "The VIP card can not be sent due to manufacturer's minimum advertised price (MAP) policy." If any site you bought it from displays the regular price as below MAP, they will not even think about honoring the warranty. But it doesn't matter, I find most vape manufacturers have no intention of honoring their warranties. At best, they tell you to take it yup with the retailer.
