510 fail fix
After 3 months I a problem with the 510. It is press fit, and atty's don't sit flush. If you use it as a daily beater, the 510 will fail.

My Solution:

The Varitube 14mm spring loaded 510 just fits with the retaining nut. I didn't have a M10x0.5 tap, if you do, you can tape the enclosure and screw the 510 directly into the mod. Total cost of the repair was $5 plus some time. Huge improvement, this is the way they should come from Cloupor.

Great mod otherwise.

How are your atties not sitting flush? Are you using a Magma or something?

The press fit 510 protruded very slightly from the top of the mod on my unit. It was a very very small gap, but enough to put stress on the 510 when shoved in my pocket. Also, the 510 on the cloupor is shallow so some atty's protruded even with the pin all the way down.

No longer an issue with the Varitube!

Looks great but I don't see how this helps an atty to sit flush.
Rube Goldberg would get a kick out of "temperature control" devices.

I've yet to find an atty that doesn't sit flush on mine.

yeah, it's not flush to the top of the mod obviously, just the deck of the varitube. I could have gone with the 22mm version, but it would have some overhang because of the curved sides of the top of the cloupor mini. Varitube doesn't make a 19mm version, which would have looked even better. It's the lesser of evils

Interesting. I have 3 cloupor minis. 2 silver from the fist run (one of which I fried the board) and a black one from a couple months after it's release. No tank I use sits flush on any of the cloupor minis I have and the culprit is the 510 pin. Even with the pin screwed all the way down, no atty I have fits flush. The gap is the width of 26 AWG wire.

But even if the 510 pin were lowered a hair, my attys would still not fit flush because the 510 is not flush mounted, it sticks up a hair (probably half the width of a 26 AWG wire).

I only have a problem with one of my silver units as far as the 510 being loose (the fried one is not loose but then I only used it for a month or so). It's loose just slightly. I baby my CM's but I can see how being even a little rough could be a problem with the stock 510s on these units. The gap allows too much stress on the 510, especially larger and heavier tanks.

I have my new HOTCIG GT II-S on one of my CMs but I fear it is too heavy and tall for the CM's 510. That's one heavy tank. But I never take that setup out of the house anyway. The CM is already heavy enough, withthe GT II-S is craxy heavy. I use isticks when I'm out & about.

Just eat it

I've just received my cloupor mini today. Non of my tanks fit flush! The 510 isn't flush mounted (as described above), but that's not the problem. The tanks sit well above (about a mm or two)the 510 fitting and it's not the pin, because when I remove the pin, they still sit high! They all still work OK, but it is kind of annoying.

Interesting, see, for me, it's the screw/pin. When I remove my pin completely, then the tank sits on top of the 510 "housing" itself, which, as we both said, is not flush mounted to the mod).

I've tried a variety of tanks, all with the same problem. From Naulilus mini, Aerotank to Atlantis and Lemo 2. All sit high!
