Very hot even though NO Atty on it!
I was quite happy with the mini that I received 2 weeks ago. Somehow my 18650 battery died in it and I thought it was the batteries fault.

Now I got brand new original Samsung SDI, charged them in an external charger, put the in the Cloupor Mini and turned the Mod OFF.

2 h later the Mod is HOT and the battery is half empty!! There was no atty attached at all and the mod was turned OFF. How ist that possible?

Remove battery, do not use and return to seller. These have known problems with the possibility they can overheat and burn. Half draining a battery and getting hot is indicative of a short, which can be dangerous. Better safe than sorry.

So it seems exactly this happens: https://www.fasttech.com/forums/2032101/t/1547353/attention?1548847

unbelievable this is still an issue.

Anyone knows a RELIABLE 20-30W Mod with an 18650 that is quite tiny?

bloddy hell, lets see how fasttech reacts. I have still one in transit and one unused. I will definitely throw them away or send them back.

I was aware that there was an issue in the past, but I can't believe that there is a company that does NOT fix this but just sells it. THIS IS A BOMB, NOT A MOD!

Cloupor made it, Cloupor should have got on top of this, but it's Cloupor so hey ho! This is not FT's fault. FT as the seller will accept a return, just put in a ticket to customer services.

Yes I did mean cloupor and not FT with "does not fix this but just sells it". No offence to FT, I know they are nice :)

yes I did sometimes. You can not sleep good when having this device at home. I thought I take care by not charging it when I am not in the room, but that it gets hot without an atty is just so dangerous.

$30 isn't worth it. if the house burns down.
I don't usually usb charge, just put it on for 5 mins to see if it worked and it got bloody hot then.

Got one coming too, and looks to be a loose spinning 510 forcing the solder joint into the circuit board. Also hear about a mounting screw touching the board, and Cloupor says it is firmware ... who knows.

I guess if bad comes to worse I'll just gut it and mod the case.
Peace be with you ...

Spend $100 on 3 pieces. So worst case is that I throw them happily away. I am sure FT will say that I have to pay the postage for sending it back (because the other 2 are not "defective"). Postage is around $25-30 for me...
