How do you expect a device with a range of 3.6-7V to drive a .5Ohm load at 30W?

You need math, son.

I am just an average user, not an mathematician. I didnt expect anything but for this mod to work on 30W in 0.45-3ohm range, like my previous mod Smok Bec Pro, son (on which i was happy on 0.4ohm @15w).

Mig's suggestion of .6Ohms is a really good one. While this should fire .43Ohms at 30W, that would necessitate buck functionality in the regulation. I don't believe this bucks at all.

So assume 4.2V @ 30W: .588Ohms. Shoot for .6.

Then i have even bigger problem with heating from cold 9wraps of 26awg kanthal, with 1sec fire button delay (from standby). Painfully long wait for first good puff :(

So use 28AWG.

28AWG works great for me, eliminates that painfully long wait. Also, why are you building so low? I've been building around 1 ohm for any regulated device, usually checking Steam-Engine for the best estimate.

Anyone else do this or am I crazy? Thanks

You're just crazy. Everybody knows that common sense does not apply to vaping, bro. How can you get a satisfying vape without sub ohming with the thickest wire you can find? Amps is better than volts. Where the fuck is Marksjazz when you need him?

This might come in handy:

Not that any of this is going to help you use coils made of bent nails at a pico ohm, which we all know is best 'because clouds'.

Mine works perfectly fine with 26 GA at 1 ohm and 15 watts.
