Coil Gauge
Hey all!

I've seen a few threads on this but just for a final verdict, can you use 32AWG Kanthal, or would the contact between the screw and post not make the right connection? i like building 1.6ohm - 1.8ohm coils, not looking to chase clouds.

I'm going to be using this on my MVP-V2, so i don't believe i can drop below 1.5ohm anyway, so i have read elsewhere as well, so i'm in a bit of a muddle, don't know whats right or wrong.

Thanks.

Don't see why not. Can't tell from the photos but it doesn't seem to have post holes and, in my experience, the smaller the wire, the easier it is to attach under the screw heads. Does look like you might want to widen the air hole unless you like a really tight draw. In any event, you can't go wrong for five and a half bucks.

Cool thanks a lot for the feedback :)

Will order one and see anyway, as Morris said, it's not exactly expensive lol, just wanted a little feedback before, otherwise i would go for the Patriot, may just get them both.

Just out of interest, why 32g? Unless you've got a bunch left over from rebuilding Protanks, it's a horrible gauge to work with. I normally suggest 26 or 28g as a good place to start, as it's easier to wrangle, and coils are less likely to collapse when you're pressing them. Actually, that's still about all I use bar some twisting 32 and ribbon.

Tbh, i picked 32 as a start point when i first started wrapping my own coils. Bought 40m of the stuff so stuck by it. I was looking at 28's not long ago, but really i like hitting around 1.6/1.8ohm, so using 28's obviously i would need to do more wraps, and in the Protank i wasn't to sure if the coil would be ok in there, length wise. I may actually buy some when i get this RDA to test with ect, but as far as 32 goes if had no trouble wrapping tight coils after torching.

I agree with Nymzavril. Even 30 is a bit fragile. 28's quite good. I've got an Igo (not this one) but I like my Patriot a bit better. It was my first dripper (actually I just got another when offered for 3 bucks). It's dual coil and really puts out after you widen the air holes.
