brass?
Mine started tasting like metal today - looked inside and the middle post has lost its plating. Anyone else having this problem?

I believe the positive and negative posts are coated brass. The body and cap itself are SS.

arshmuck, would you be so kind to post/link a photo of your IGLO-L middle post?

I threw it away this morning without thinking. Guess I could go rummage through the dumpster but would rather not. To give a better description, a small patch of the coating on the middle of the post close to where my coil was had rubbed off.

"I could go rummage through the dumpster but would rather not"
I fully understand -:)
The reason i asked is, that i received two IGLO-L a few days ago,
but had no time to test them.
If the middle post is brass, its only a matter of time that the coating will go off.
I will check the IGLO-L and raise a ticket if necesarry.
Thank you.

That is correct. And the screws will rust like buggery if left near water.

Unavailable for comment.

Is it a bad thing to have brass post? It seems like everyone is making a big deal about the kayfun clones having brass, but not much complaining here about the igo L.

Maybe the Kayfun is attracting a more hysterical type of customer?

I read somewhere that brass alone is safe but in my case made the juice taste like metal. I'm more worried about vaping the chrome plating which has dissolved into the juice than the brass - will avoid chrome plated brass internals in the future.

So the post that we wrap the coil around is in contact with the juice?

Depends on your wick - if you use a cotton bed and micro coil then yes. Standard silica/ekowool or yarn might avoid this issue.
