Blinking red & green?
Ok, so i got this charger to go with 2 EVOD 900mAh batteries..

Since they have both arrived flat, they require a charge..

The light stays red for a while, then changes to green for a few seconds, then red etc..

Is this normal? will it stay green once fully charged?

Thanks

If it's anything like mine, then yes. Mine go from red to flickering red/green, then to solid green.

Ok thanks a lot MarkFll

No info with them so i was just going on guess work.. i presumed this would be the case.

Do they arrive flat? i presumed they would do, they did not work so that backed up my theory :D

On charge now.

Batteries are usually shipped partially charged. It's recommended to charge them fully before using the first time.

@ali

Lithium batteries must never drain below a certain voltage so are never normally flat. There should be control/protection circuits in EGO's to ensure this so despite having energy the batteries shuts down to protect themselves. So they always have say a 20% charge. Normally they are stored at 40% charge and don't drop much. So all these 40% batteries are causing this postal issue.

We should also store at around 40 to 50% charge if it's for a long time.

Make sure you use the USB charger and/or Wall adapter that was supplied.

Ego's are all protected however there are unprotected and protected batteries available for MODs.

So, when my EVOD battery 1300mAh arrive I need to use it until the battery is over and then charge it?

The flicking between red and green is normal. They are pulse chargers, so pulse through a 420mah current to the battery before checking voltage and eventually cutoff to end the charge. You will notice the charger stays red, and flickers green intermittently at the beginning of the charge. Then as the batt gets fuller (closer to cutoff) the pulses are shorter and the red/green flicker happens more often until eventually the green light on the charger stays on.

Mine batterys aren't surviving for so long. I let the batty charge for 3 hours. I will try to count the time I use it to see if it is normal.

I would like if someone can give me a example of how much time a 1300mah ego (from this kit) batty stay alive until from fully charged to no charge.

With KangerTech EVOD mine is red and blinks green every few seconds till it's charged. Oddly with knock off EVOD's it works exactly as described here. Red then blinking, then fast blinking then green.
