umm I had a single cree xml u3 at the output.
Setup was something like this

U3==|Driver|==Battery==Multimeter

Where multimeter was in series between negative end of battery and driver.
Also i'm not sure if i'm right here but aren't typical drivers supposed to output at around 5V?

I got confused reading the posts above about voltage at the emitter(s) of 5V, and something about boosting the voltage to 9V. On the product page I read "The output voltage is limited to 3.6 volts, regardless of the battery type". So I assumed that no matter which battery source(s)you use, it has to be between 1 and 4.2V and it boosts the voltage to 3.6V. However I did notice the term using a '3up' so that must be the part that I missed. Does '3up' mean using three of these in series to theoretically triple the output voltage perhaps?
