Edit: these are rated at 1C do not draw more than 2.9A from these cells or risk venting.

Use a safer chemistry imr battery. Such as SKU 1686801. SAMSUNG 25R's are hard to beat.

Any cell with a 10A continuous or 15A pulsed max amp draw rating, (rating must be for minimum 10 second duration), that is not protected is within the safe specifications of the device.

IMR is best, Hybrid cells are like sony vtc series and panasonic cgr/ncr cells, Dry chemistry is only OK.

my 3 best (panasonic) recommendations for a vamo v8:

SKU 1674900 is the safest chemistry li ion I know of and high capacity

SKU 1455000 is the safest chemistry li ion I know of, good capacity, and cheaper

SKU 1141101 is the safest chemistry li ion I know of and cheapest (this cell's wrapper does not go all the way around the bottom of the cell. For a lot of mods you must wrap electrical tape around the bottom or re-wrap the cell for safe use)

All of these cells are rated 10A continuous max amp draw, and 18A pulsed max amp draw (30 seconds).

These panasonics really last too, my 4 cgr18650ch cells are still holding strong after well over a year with no loss of capacity. (minimum 300 charce cycles each)
