Also you can removed the brass screw thingee around the refill tip and refill it with the cheaper large butane tanks used for cooking

I use my own mix of 30% propane and 70% butane (from Asian Market butane canisters) for camp stove canisters in winter, so I bought the Brunton adapter that allows you to use the camping stove butane canisters to fill your lighter. I also place the lighter in the freezer before filling. As a result, mine has been working perfectly on a daily basis. Ten minutes is tons of time - this is not a cook stove after all. If you are having problems with your lighter, it is usually due to an airlock, lots of tutorials on how to deal with that. And no, you cannot ignite the soft flame mode direct with this Piezo ignitor, you have to transition to soft flame from the turbo flame. To bad this did not have a battery powered ignition so it would work reliably at altitude and in high humidity and then it would be perfect.
