Will it blend? NCR18650B protected button
Does anyone know if this will...

1. fit the NCR18650B protected button
SKU 1141104
2. make secure contact with NCR18650B NO button
SKU 1141100

More details behind the questions.
The protected button cell has got to be the longest at 69.4mm
The authentic no button types have quite recessed terminals and I'm wondering if this charger will 'reach in' far enough and make a solid reliable contact. - - Will magnets solve this / will they fit?

Any suggestions for an alternative charger welcome.
US socket style and ability to handle shorter batteries just like this does would future proof the purchase.

Thanks for your time.

it will be a tight fit for this NCR18650B protected button, its 70.3mm
a 70mm only just fits in, no more room
there is some give in the metal at the negative end of the charger (it will bend back a mm)

and yes the other, no button will work fine...

also if your need is also for other batteries like
Ni-MH / Ni-Cd: AA, AAA, AAAA, C, LiFePO4 rechargeable batteries

this SKU 1756400 charger can do more like charging LiFePO4
and Charging Small Capacity Batteries
When charging batteries with a capacity lower than 750mAH (e.g.
AAA, 10440 and 16340 batteries. a low charging current is
recommended to help extend battery life.

To select a low charging current, while in regular charging mode,
simply press the side “SLOT” button to select a desired battery slot
and then press and hold the side “MODE” button for more than 1
second until “LOW” is displayed on the LCD display indicating
activation of low current charging mode. To exit, simply press and
hold the side “MODE” button for more than 1 second once again or
remove and reinstall the battery.

this also works on any size IMR battery for a low current charge 750mA to 300mA

Displayed charger currents (They will slowly reduce when entering CV phase of a LiIon charge):
750mA: The charge circuit is only charging one battery.
375mA: The charge circuit time sharing between two batteries.
300mA: The charge circuit is in low current mode and only charging one battery.
150mA: The charge circuit is in low current mode and time sharing between two batteries. (The charger has two charge circuit, one is serving slot #1 and #4, the other is serving slot #2 and #3 using time sharing.)

Yes they are Authentic

Do you have them to measure or are you just going by those specs?

I have also seen them quoted as 70.5mm

The calipers are accurate and measure 69.51mm.

I also know they fit in my Nitecore I2 charger. ;)

Think you may be posting an older version/pics or they are the clones.

The ones FT sells are authentic and look like this.

Same ones my local BM sell.

Anyways if they get the FT SKU 1141104 they definitely fit. ;)

Migweld changed post:

That review was done 2 years ago and Panasonic does not add protection themselves.

Stated also in the reviews you linked.

This battery is not made by Panasonic. The cell inside the battery is from Panasonic, the protection cirucit and the assembly work is done by somebody else.
Notice the length of the battery, it is the longest 18650 I have seen to date.

Orbtronic also re-wraps Panasonic unprotected NCR18650B with their own label to make them protected and list them at 68.9mm.

Nitecore also adds protection to them to and use their own label like Orbtronic does(not sold here at FT) and are 69.2mm called Nitecore 18650 NL189.

FT does sell a Nitecore that is a re-wrapped Panasonic battery NL188 These batteries are just a re-branded "Panasonic Protected NCR18650A".

So they are all probably authentic but just use a different size protection chips from whoever adds it and re-wraps them and hence the different sizes.

But like I said in my earlier post the ones FT sell fit in the charger OP is asking about no matter how much you want to believe the other reviews on size being 70.3mm.

It all comes down to what size the protection chip measure before/after it is added to a regular NCB18650B SKU 1141100 unprotected battery.

Like the reviews say Panasonic does not make protected batteries, it is added after the fact buy a different vendor.
