From vague memory these units have a tendency to overcharge?

I have no idea if they would degrade quality batteries any faster than a quality charger though

It'll charge them, but it won't be good for them and will most likely lessen the lifespan of your batteries.
I'm not sure that charger even follows a correct charging algorithm. Probably not. I'd look into a better charger . Look after your batteries and they will look after you.

And still not good

Buy XTAR. You won't regret it. VP1 is cheap enough now

I used to have the older version of this (WF-139 I think).

It used to work fine though the cut off was a little low, around 4.13 from memory.

Then one day it decided not to shut off at all and made a rather pretty explosion.

I have had 2 XTAR VP1's (first got stolen by lil' brother); and they are amazing chargers. Since they are dedicated Lithium chargers (not multi-chemistry) they can bring them back from the dead. My friend got his low enough that he couldn't read it (was 1.85v) and the XTAR got it back to full charge.

Sadly, it won't do 26650 batteries though.

For the more budget minded, the Nitecore i2 is a great choice.
