I heard that AW is a rebrand of Panasonic, wich is a great battery. So carrying the Panaconic ass well woulb probably be a good choice too.

AW is really just a guy's initials, but they are so good because while they are just a rebranded battery, like many many batteries are, they have to pass stricter testing to get the aw label. Panasonic was at least at one time the 18650 aw used for rebranding. Which exact panasonic model, you would have to do a whole lot of research to find out. At this point and time I am quite sure AW may use a different supplier and maybe even different suppliers for different sizes, but one thing for sure is that the extra step of testing makes AW superior to other batteries, and are well worth the price.

MsaneJain, I agree with you. the question I ask is: since AW uses the realiable Panasonic cells for 18650s, would it be worth pay the extra cost for the stricter testeings?
